Northern Province consists of 5 districts, namely Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Mullaitivu, and Vavuniya, and is occupied predominantly by Tamil-speaking people. Vanni region consists of three districts naming Mannar, Mullaitivu, and Vavuniya.
The Eastern Province consists of 3 districts Batticaloa, Trincomalee, and Ampara. One-third (1/3) of the current population In Trincomalee and Ampara districts are Sinhalese, who were colonized by the successive Sri Lankan Governments in a wellPlaned manner since 1948
